She celebrated her 105th birth anniversary yesterday at her humble place of abode with her loved ones.Born on April 20, 1906, at Agricola Village, East Bank Demerara, Adina spent her days working in the back dams and the Diamond sugar estate, where she would usually fetch water to supply the cane cutters on a regular basis.The 105-year-old woman flocked by her children, grand children,Cheap NFL Jerseys, great-grand children and great-great grand children at her Bagotville home,Cheap Basketball Jerseys, WBD.She later married and gave birth to a number of children, only three of whom are still alive, to date. Her late husband, Amos Capitus, passed away in 1976 after he was involved in an accident.Kaieteur News understands from her children that Adina has always been a churchgoing individual with a kind, calm and peaceful demeanour. Her son, Basil Capitus, resides in Antigua while her two daughters,Cheap NFL Jerseys, Megan Newbie and Hilda Nurse, live in Guyana.Newbie said that her mother has always been an instrumental part of her life, introducing her to the church life and allowing her family to “know God”.Adina’s other daughter, Nurse, told this publication that after working in the backdams and at the Diamond sugar estate, as her mother became older; she would assist other families, serving as a “nanny” who would help take care of the elder folks.Both daughters explained that their mother enjoyed sewing, any type of needlework, and she loved cooking various types of meals.Adina would also find pleasure in teaching young children especially her own about the Bible and would treat them to folk stories on certain occasions.Adina is the grandmother of 14, great-grandmother of 53 and she has 31 great-great grandchildren.When Kaieteur News visited Adina’s home, Food For The Poor (FFTP) had already arrived to donate some necessities to the woman on her birthday.Among the items which the FFTP donated were pillows,Cheap NFL Jerseys, comforter sets, paper towels, Avon shoes, a wall clock with batteries,Wholesale Jerseys China, hygiene kits and canned food (vegetarian beans).
