Burns won't likely be a starter at cornerback when the Steelers open the regular season, but he's OK with that. Gay and Ross Cockrell will start on the outside and rookie second-round pick Sean Davis is expected to be the first-team slot cornerback.

Burns will be happy as long as he's on the field.
"I'm behind, but I don't feel like I'm far behind because I was still able to get the mental part," Burns said.
"I'm just excited to see him healthy and ready to go," Gay said. "You always look forward to big things from a guy of his caliber. He's just excited to prove to the locker room that he's capable of helping out."
Burns also leaned heavily on teammate William Gay, a 10-year veteran at cornerback. Gay looks forward to watching Burns in action.
